SYL Week #2

Define my values...
What do you like to do? – I like to read, to create, to help.
Who and what inspires you? – Anne Howie, people who know what they're doing, know what they want
What do you feel strongly about in life? – My kids
When you close your eyes and visualise the person you want to be (free from anyone elses influence) what stands out to you? How does that “future you” act? What do they believe in? - happy, confident, not afraid, kind, helpful, believe in freedom & kindness
What are you dead set against in life? intentional & meaningless violence
What do I want from life?  to be happy, to create, to inspire, to succeed at my goals, to HAVE goals!
Values that call to me...
Enthusiasm
Peaceful
Loyalty
Family
Balance
Determined
Creativity
Freedom
Sensitivity
Grace
Health
Dream
Succeed
I thought the hardest part would be narrowing these down into just a few, but then I realised that I've just had my core values engraved on the back of my new iPad! It reads:
Create. Dream. Inspire.
Be Happy!
What do these words mean to me?
Create - the ability to make beautiful things - cards & scrapbooks, art - painting has been calling me...I really should listen! But not only that, to create happy & successful adults out of my kids, to create a happy, pleasant home and to create a fulfilling relationship with my husband.
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris
Dream - make plans, set goals, and encourage my family to do the same.
Inspire -inspire myself, my family, my kids & my Kaszazz customers & colleagues to achieve their dreams & to believe in themselves.
Be Happy! - I think this one's fairly self-explanatory!!
Wow...that's a lot more than I was expecting!

Simplify Your Life Challenge

I'm a bit late finding this...but it's a challenge I really need!  Have a look at the full challenge over at Home Life Simplified.

Working on 'better late than never' I'm going to start at Week 1, but I'm hoping to maybe catch up along the way!

Week #1 Challenge: Create a list of everything that went "right" in 2011.

2011...
  • My baby started full-time Prep, so I was able to reclaim some of my life.
  • I focused on my Kaszazz Business, studying with The Party Plan Expert, Anne Howie, in her Goal Getters Program to learn better ways to run & expand my hobby into a business.  This was a huge part of my year, but the information I gained was well worth it...it's going to take a while to put it all into action, but I learned so much!
  • I attended the Kaszazz Conference in Adelaide - amazing experience, inspirational people, heaps of fun.
  • I was able to visit my Granny in Melbourne - she gave everyone a scare with a sudden heart attack, but recovered and I was able to see her.  She made an amazing recovery and is with us still.  I'm hoping to be able to visit again this year.
  • I made a good start on tidying my messy craft room/office.  It's still a work in progress, but it's getting there!
  • My kids are (mostly) happy & healthy...not straight A students, but caring and considerate.
  • My hubby is hard-working, helpful & caring (& sometimes grumpy, but no one's perfect!).
  • I enjoyed spending time with my friends...lunch, coffee, fun!!
And probably lots of other things went 'right' but they've slipped my mind for now! :)
